I am not big on science fiction and I usually hate "what if" books add storylines, but I have had a crush on Caesar ever since reading Colleen McCullough's Rome books, so I think I will have to give this a try...
The sci-fi part is very light, so I hope you enjoy the book if you give it a try. And thank you for the recommendation: I never heard of McCullough, so I will have to check it out too!
She is mostly known for Thorn Birds, but her Rome series is incredible, very well researched and masterfully written. It also gave me a perfect grade in my Erasmus "Democracy in Ancient Rome and Greece" class and a crush on Julius Caesar :)
